Defense Minister Ehud Barak delivered a speech regarding the flotilla preparing to leave Lebanon with the declared intention to break the maritime blockade on the Gaza Strip

On Thursday morning (June 17), Defense Minister Ehud Barak spoke about the Lebanese flotilla which is preparing to leave within the next days with the intention to break the maritime blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip. “There are media reports on the intention to send two ships from Lebanon to Israel, and I clearly say to the Lebanese government: you are responsible for ships that leave from Lebanese ports with a clear and known intention to break the maritime blockade on Gaza”.
In his speech, the Defense Minister stressed that the Lebanese government is fully responsible for the cargo transported on the ships, and that this may end up in a violent confrontation. “The government of Lebanon, from where such ships are leaving, has to prevent war materials, weaponry, ammunitions, explosive charges and so on, which can later lead to violent and dangerous confrontation in case the ship refuses to dock in Ashdod, from finding their way into the ships”, he said.
Barak also noted that there is no intention to remove the maritime blockade on the Gaza Strip, “designed to ensure there is no smuggling of rockets, missiles and weaponry into the Gaza Strip. We continue to maintain the principle that anyone who wants to transfer humanitarian aid and equipment to the Gaza Strip must transfer it through the Ashdod port, just like containers intended for Ramallah, Bethlehem or Nablus”.

Ten Commandments Called Unconstitutional
by Staff
June 16, 2010
WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 that the purpose of the Ten Commandments display placed in the Courts of McCreary and Pulaski Counties is religious and it violated the Establishment Clause of the Constitution.
However, Judge James L. Ryan recommended a rehearing with the full Sixth Circuit panel of Judges because of several other rulings by the court which had different outcomes. Judge Ryan said, "Perhaps the panel will reconsider an en banc hearing in this case."
Mathew Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University Law School said, "The Ten Commandments are a part of the fabric of our country. They are as much at home in display about the foundations of law as the stars and stripes are in the flag. The Founding Fathers would be outraged that we are even debating the constitutionality of the Ten Commandments."
Don Swarthout, President of Christians Reviving America's Values said, "These rulings against the Ten Commandments and against Christianity are nothing but ludicrous. Since when did we make the Federal Courts out to be the thought police? How can the Federal Courts say the thinking of our Founding Fathers was unconstitutional, when it was our Founding Fathers who thought out our Constitution before they wrote it?"
A quote attributed to John Quincy Adams said, "The greatest glory of the American Revolution was this; it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity." Swarthout said, "That seems pretty clear about what the thoughts of our Founding Fathers actually were when they wrote the Constitution.
Jesus said in Matthew 22:21, "Render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are Gods. Jesus gave both Christianity and government validity in that sentence. Jesus was telling us, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which make up the principles of good civil government; and render unto God the things which make up the principles of Christianity.
Swarthout said, "From John Quincy Adams and Jesus Christ we should understand the principles of good civil government and the principles of Christianity are exactly the same. We should not have any battles between government and Christianity. How would our courts rule on that argument?"

Gaza flotilla deaths can be blamed on Obama
According to a report by World Tribune, the nine deaths that occurred when Israeli commandos stormed the Free Gaza "aid" flotilla that tried to break Israel's maritime blockade of the Hamas-ruled territory last week can be largely blamed on US President Barack Obama.
The paper cited diplomatic sources that revealed Obama had demanded Israel "exercise extreme caution and restraint" and not use traditional non-lethal riot gear against the passengers, even after Israel shared intelligence showing the passenger of the Mavi Marmara were affiliated with a Turkish terror group and likely to offer violent resistance.
Had the Israelis boarded the Mavi Marmara with tear gas and rubber bullets, it is very likely there would have been no fatalities in the confrontation.
Instead, the Israeli commandos carried only paintball guns and pistols. They were quickly overwhelmed by dozens of "peace" activists wielding knives and clubs, and several of the Israelis were taken hostage. The second wave of commandos, understandably fearful that their captured comrades were being lynched or may end up like other abducted Israeli soldiers, quickly requested and received permission to use their sidearms.
In a misguided effort to prevent a violent clash by putting the Israeli commandos and the activists on equal footing, the White House actually set the stage for a far more deadly situation.
