On Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1859, Charles Darwin's book on his theory of evolution, The Origin of Species, was published.
Since then, evolutionists have developed elaborate theories about man coming from lower animals, especially apes. However, those theories are not going unchallenged.
Fossil Finds & Fossil Faults
In May, a fossil find was announced with great fanfare in New York City and was said to be an early link from monkeys to man
"We are not dealing with our grand, grand, grand, grandmother, but perhaps with our grand, grand, grand aunt," the Senckenberg Research Institute's Dr. Jens Franzen said.
"This skeleton is going to inform almost anything that we talk about in trying to determine the ancestor of higher primates," explained the University of Michigan's Dr. Holly Smith.
Despite this confident mood, critics like Dr. David Dewitt have been finding fault with fossils like these for years.
"The underside of the skulls for the apes, they're very similar," said DeWitt. "And the human skull is different, the odd one out. And you can tell because of the position of the foramen magnum -- in the apes is up and in humans coming from the bottom."
Likewise, scientists eventually debunked that celebrated fossil. But there was no media hoopla. There was merely silence, leaving the public with the impression that man is an ape.
God-like or Ape-like?
In his presentation Image of God or Planet of Apes, DeWitt says the stakes are high.
"Either man is created by God in His image or evolved over millions of years from pond scum through ape-like ancestors," DeWitt said.
PBS recently produced a series of programs promoting that ape-like ancestry for mankind. The NOVA series is entitled "Becoming Human."
"Somehow over time, they would become us," the Nova narrator said. "We know it happened, but we've never known when or why until now."
In the first episode, NOVA discusses the fossil known as Lucy's Child. But DeWitt notes how every new insight from Lucy's Child shows it is like an ape, not man.
The vocal bone, inner ear organ for balance, and curved fingers are like a chimpanzee's. The shoulder blades and heavy neck verterbrae closely resemble a gorilla's and is consistent with knuckle walking. Yet the NOVA program shows the creatures upright, not walking on their knuckles.
By contrast, man's entire skeleton allows him to balance on two legs for running, even with the hindrance of a gorilla suit, after all it is the human race.
Most importantly, the brain capacity of Lucy's Child falls in the range of a chimpanzee's.
Evolution Based More on Belief Than Real Evidence
DeWitt says one weakness for evolution is that it is often based more on belief than real evidence, in spite of the certainty evolutionists usually claim. As more data is considered, widely held Darwinist ideas are shown to be false.
For example, walking on two legs was thought to be how ape brains got pushed into becoming human brains. But now the idea is fading.
The new theory is that the ancient climate was unstable and that pushed the development of bigger brains.
"Africa's gradual drying trend was punctuated by burst of wild climate fluctuations," the NOVA narrator explained. "Then came 200,000 years of widely varying climate - careening unpredictably between wet and dry…"
DeWitt, who is trained in neuroscience, says that makes no sense. He says the great complexity of the human brain cannot arise from weather changes and random mutations.
The evolutionists themselves debunk each other to get their pet theories accepted - while they last.
Even The New York Times found humor in the climate theory in an article published on Nov. 3, 2009.
"Brains got bigger because only smarter beings could survive in such climatic conditions. So there you have it: global warming should have the same effect, which means we'll all be super-geniuses soon."
Hijacked Into a Fossil Family Tree
DeWitt says the climate change theory of human intelligence will eventually be replaced when it becomes obvious that there really wasn't evidence for it in the first place.
In fact, interspersed amid the evolutionary certainty, there are hints of weak evidence. The few skeletal bones that have been found. A depression that could very likely be and animation fills in the gaps.
These ancient creatures must have spent time in the trees, possibly sleeping there at night.
DeWitt says all the power and money of the evolution establishment can create stunning visual presentations, but can't prove that man evolved from lower life forms. They've even robbed the apes of their ancestry
"Toumai was hailed a few years ago as our oldest ancestor," DeWitt explained in his "Image of God" presentation.
"The suggestion was made instead that perhaps this is an ancestor to female gorillas," he said. "And this is very important, because there are virtually no other examples of fossil apes. They've all been hijacked into the human evolutionary tree."
So the next time you hear someone contending that man's basic nature is mere monkey biology, remember there is another side to the issue.

Sarah Palin meets Billy Graham
by Jennifer Riley, Christian Post
Sarah Palin meets Billy Graham
Sarah Palin met evangelist Billy Graham for dinner at his home on Montreat, North Carolina, on Sunday.
The two were joined by Franklin Graham, who had extended the invitation to Palin last winter after the two delivered aid together in Alaska, Anne Graham Lotz, and Palin’s parents, Chuck and Sally Heath, her aunt Katie Johnson, daughter Piper, and son Trig.
During their meeting, the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee spoke of her spiritual journey and her life in Alaska. Meanwhile, the famed evangelist, who has counselled countless presidents and politicians, shared his memories of preaching in Anchorage, Alabama, in 1984.
“It was an honour having Governor Palin and her family in our home this evening,” said Billy Graham in a statement. “I, like many people, have been impressed with her strong commitment to her faith, to family and love of country.”
Franklin Graham told The Charlotte Observer that his father has followed Palin’s career and “likes her strong stand on faith”.
“Daddy feels God was using her to wake America up,” Graham said.
Palin also felt privileged to meet Billy Graham, calling it “a once-in-a-lifetime honour”.
The elder Graham signed Bibles for all of Palin’s family members present for the dinner and signed two for her – one small travel-size Bible and a large New King James version, according to the Observer.
They also prayed together.
“Life in the spotlight is not easy and I pray that whatever lies ahead for this family that their faith in God and His Son, Jesus Christ, would remain strong and that God would put a hedge or protection around her and all those she holds dear,” Graham said.
This was the first time Palin and Billy Graham met.
In February, then Alaska Governor Palin had teamed up with Franklin Graham and the humanitarian group he heads, Samaritan’s Purse, to deliver 44,000 pounds of food to families along the Yukon River who were hit by an unusually harsh winter.
Palin’s stop in Montreat was en route to the next city on her book tour. She is scheduled to stop at Fort Bragg in eastern North Carolina on Monday to promote her memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life.

National Right to Life to Obama and Reid: You Wanted Debate? Now You'll Get Debate - On Government-Funded Abortion
by Staff
November 24, 2009
WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- The U.S. Senate barely cleared an initial 60- vote procedural hurdle, setting the stage for a 2,074-page health care bill, crafted by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nv.), to move forward to debate before the full Senate. The following statement was issued by the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of right-to-life organizations in all 50 states, and may be attributed to NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson.
As National Right to Life has previously noted, Senator Reid's bill [on page 118] would authorize the federal government to pay for any and all abortions through a huge new federal health insurance program, the "public option," and also to subsidize purchase of private plans that cover abortion on demand. President Obama and Reid know that the substance of these abortion-promoting policies is deeply unpopular, so they seek to conceal the reality with layers of contorted definitions and money- laundering schemes.
Obama and Reid wanted debate - so now they'll get debate, on their cloaked provisions that would cover abortion on demand in proposed new government-run and government-subsidized insurance plans.
Obama and Reid are seeking to block enactment of the bipartisan Stupak-Pitts compromise, adopted by the U.S. House of Representatives on November 7 by a vote of 240-194. This amendment would prevent government funding of elective abortion through the proposed "public option," and would also prevent federal subsidies from paying for private insurance plans that cover elective abortion.
During the weeks ahead, National Right to Life will continue to fight the efforts of President Obama and congressional Democratic leaders to cover abortion on demand in two huge new federal health programs. The Senate bill faces additional 60-vote hurdles in the future. Moreover, a courageous group of pro-life Democrats in the House of Representatives will oppose final approval of health care legislation if the Stupak-Pitts Amendment is gutted or removed.
For extensive further documentation on the Stupak- Pitts Amendment and other aspects of the issue, visit the NRLC website at www.nrlc.org/ahc.
Both NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson and Senior Legislative Counsel Susan T. Muskett are available to provide further comment and analysis on the Stupak-Pitts Amendment and the abortion provisions in the Reid bill. To arrange an interview, contact the NRLC Communications Department at (202) 626-8825 or (202) 423-3329 (mobile).
The National Right to Life Committee, the nation's largest pro-life group, is a federation of affiliates in all 50 states and 3,000 local chapters nationwide. National Right to Life works through legislation and education to protect those threatened by abortion, infanticide, euthanasia and assisted suicide.

Muslims attack worship service in Uganda
by Staff
November 20, 2009
(christiansunite.com) - Approximately 40 Muslims armed with machetes and clubs attacked the World Possessor's Church International in Namasuba, just outside the capital city of Kampala, Uganda, on November 1 while believers were holding a worship service.
When the church members heard the Muslims outside, they gathered at the front door to try to prevent them from entering. Some Christians were able to escape through the church's rear door.
When the Muslims noticed one of the Christians taking photographs of them, they beat him severely. Nearby residents eventually arrived on scene and helped the Christians ward off their attackers. When police arrived, they assisted in stopping the assault but made no arrests.
Local Muslims have long opposed the existence of the church in Namasuba, complaining that church members try to convert Muslims in the area. They have also argued that the church building's outdoor stairway encroaches on the alley and that the church members make too much noise.
Many of the believers are reportedly too fearful to return to church and attendance for the worship service held the following Sunday decreased from 250 to 100 people. "Since the attack we have been receiving a lot of threats from the Muslims," said Pastor Henry Zaake. "There is a conspiracy that we can't understand. This trend really gives me sleepless nights."
Ask God to sustain all the victims of this attack through His peace and grace. Pray that the members of the church will grow in Christlikeness through the ongoing opposition they face (James 1:2-4).

Israel bombs Gaza in response to rocket fire
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 Israel Today Staff
Israel bombs Gaza in response to rocket fire
Israeli warplanes early Tuesday morning struck Hamas arms depots in northern and southern Gaza in response to Palestinian rocket fire on southern Israel a day earlier.
During the early evening hours on Monday, a Palestinian rocket fired from Hamas-ruled Gaza landed between two communities in southern Israel, causing no injuries or damage.
The Israeli response came during hours when the terrorist arms depots were devoid of personnel.
The Israeli army confirmed the aerial strikes later on Tuesday, and insisted that it "will not tolerate attacks from terror organizations on the State of Israel's territory and will continue to operate with a firm hand against any attempt to disrupt the calm in Israel's towns and the south of the country."
